- How do you manage hygiene in the baths?

In order to ensure that our hot springs are safe to use, we manage hygiene in our public baths in full compliance with the methods and cleaning frequency stipulated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Public Health Center.

If you made the reservation through our website, you may cancel by directly contacting us. However, the provisions of our Cancellation Policy will apply. Please be aware that, in principle, we do not accept cancellations for reservations made elsewhere online.

- What time can I check-in?

Please contact us if you will be arriving later than 6:00 p.m. Check-in time is usually from 2:00 p.m.

- Can I request a room in which I can smoke?

All rooms are now non-smoking, effective from January 21, 2019. We thank you for your understanding. (There is a smoking area in the hotel. Please feel free to make use of it.)

- Can I stay with a guide dog?

Absolutely. However, please remember to bring your dog’s certificate, as we will need to check it on the day of your stay.

- Are pets allowed to stay?

We apologize for the inconvenience, but no, pets are not allowed to stay at the hotel. However, this does not apply to guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs. In which case, please remember to bring your dog’s certificate, as we will need to check it on the day of your stay.

- Is there a charge for my small child to share a bed with me?

There is a 3,300-yen hotel facility usage fee for children under 3 years of age.

- Can I bring my own food and drinks?

You may bring food and drinks into your room. The refrigerator in your room is empty. Please feel free to use it. Bringing your own food and drinks into the dining room will incur a fee. - To what extent are you able to accommodate allergies?

At Tateshina Shinyu Onsen, we are able to remove the following six allergens: eggs, milk, shrimp, crab, peanuts, and buckwheat. If you would like us to remove any of these allergens from your meals, please contact at least one week in advance by telephone (+81-266-67-2020) or email (info@tateshina-shinyu.com).
*However, please understand that we cannot guarantee the complete removal of allergens, as your meals will be prepared in the same kitchen as dishes that contain allergens. If you need assurance that no allergens are present in any quantity, then please refrain from eating at the hotel for your own safety.
*You may only bring in your own meals if the hotel is unable to provide a meal due to allergies or other reasons. In such case, please contact us in advance.

- Which room type is most convenient?

Our Seiryutei and Miyamatei rooms are located in the main building, so they are the most convenient. A single elevator provides access to the entrance, public baths, and restaurant.

- Can I use the baths without staying at the hotel (as a day spa)?

In order to allow our guests to relax and enjoy their stay, we do not allow one-day bathing. We are very sorry for the inconvenience to our guests who were expecting to take a one-day bath, and we would appreciate your understanding.

- Can I make a reservation in advance for the private outdoor hot springs?

As a general rule, we do not accept reservations in advance. Reservations are accepted in the order of check-in.

- Are towels provided in the public baths?

No, there are no towels provided in the baths. Please bring your own from your room.

- What is the age limit for children for mixed gender bathing?

Children are allowed into public baths and changing rooms of the opposite gender up until the age of six.

- What is the surrounding environment like?

The hotel is a single building on the bank of a first-class river nestled within a rich natural environment. The hotel stands at an elevation of 1,350 meters above sea level, making the surroundings cool with beautiful lush greenery in summer and gorgeous crimson foliage in autumn.

- Are there any smoking areas?

There are two smoking rooms in the hotel. Please inquire when you arrive.

- Is there a curfew?

The hotel entrance is open 24 hours a day. However, the lights are turned off after midnight.

- Are there any popular items at the shop?

The soup curry that we serve at dinner is our most popular item.
The hotel shop offers local food products from Nagano, a prefecture known for the health and longevity of its residents, as well as Shinyu lifestyle products that allow you to enjoy the Shinyu experience at home. The shop also offers many original products only available at the hotel. We invite you to enjoy shopping.

Tateshina Jiyu Noen Farm is located roughly 20 min away by car along the Venus Line.

Depending on the season, coupons for the Kita-Yatsugatake Ropeway, Barakura English Garden, and other attractions are available at the pamphlet counter. Please feel free to ask a staff member if you have any questions.

No, satellite and other pay TV options are not available.

- May I read the many books in the hotel?

Yes, you are free to pick up and read any of the books. You may also take them to your room.

- Is there only one key to each guest room?

We will give you two keys, so there is no need for worry.

- I would like to take a commemorative photo inside the hotel. Is there a recommended spot?

There is a spot where you can take a photo with the hotel logo in the background. There are many other great photo spots as well. Please feel free to ask a staff member if you would like to take photos.

- Is shuttle bus service available?

There are two free shuttle buses a day from JR Chino Station to the hotel. We also provide pick-up and drop-off services to the nearest bus stop at any time. Please let us know in advance if you know the time of the bus you will be taking.
