Welcome to Tateshina Shinyu Onsen

Housekeeping
Housekeeping staff members have very little contact with guests, and are unfortunately unable to see the joy that they bring to guests. Nevertheless, all staff members are aware of the importance of keeping the hotel and all guest rooms clean so that our guests feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.
Fortunately, when we have the opportunity to encounter guests in the hotel and greet them with a smile, guests always return our greetings with a big beautiful smile. That motivates us more than anything else. We will continue to put our hearts into preparing rooms to inspire as many guests as possible to Tateshina Shinyu Onsen once again.

Reception
The front desk of the hotel handles everything from reservations and check-in through to attentiveness to the needs of guests during their stay, sightseeing guidance, and check-out. This requires meticulous yet unintrusive attention to detail and tact to ensure that guests are able to relax and spend precious time with their loved ones.
We strive each and every day to anticipate what our guests truly want, and respond one step ahead of time, to ensure that they have a heartwarming stay.

Vallet service
We are the face of the hotel and determine our guests’ first impressions because we are the first staff members to greet them, as we stand at the entrance through rain and wind, summer and winter. We are proud that our position plays an important part in the hotel’s reputation, and we enjoy making you feel excited about your stay.
We only interact with guests for a short time, from welcoming them upon arrival and guiding them into the lobby, but we apply our smiles and physical strength (laughs) to making guests feel happy about choosing this hotel.

Head chef
Trying local delicacies is one of the great pleasures of travel. Did you know that the residents of Nagano Prefecture have always been among the healthiest and longest lived in Japan? The vegetables that grown in highland areas are highly nutritious, and the prefecture is a treasure trove of fermented foods, with miso at the top of the list. I am always striving to devise dishes in the Shinshu Tateshina-style–– simple, healthy, and delicious––to make guests exclaim, “This is delicious,” along with their glass of Suwa sake or Nagano wine.
Breakfast begins with Tateshina Sunny Salad, which adds a twist to the flavor of the vegetables, and continues with six other dishes. A bowl of yudofu, made using Ginrei soybeans, a Shinshu specialty, and served in soy milk broth, is the guaranteed best way to start your day. Since we use simple mountain ingredients, the chefs here are required to put forth meticulous effort and great love. Everything depends on it. We hope that our guests can sense this commitment.

Restaurant
What I value most in my interactions with customers is having casual conversation with them. Every time I serve a dish, they tell me about where they went that day or compliment a dish that they liked.
When I get an idea from a conversation like this about something that the guest might enjoy, I immediately put it into action. These casual little things always seem to make my guests happier than I expected. Seeing them happy is the most rewarding and joyous part of this job for me.

Why come here? Nothing that is in the city is here, and nothing that is here is in the city. Shingen’s hidden hot spring, overlooking a roaring clear river, will warm your body from the inside out. In the lobby, you will find numerous books that will make you feel nostalgic. You can run your finger over the ice in your glass of whiskey at the bar as you reminisce about those days.
Enjoy local ingredients, local sake, and Nagano wine in a private room in the restaurant. The sensation of closing your eyes and feeling swept away is also exquisite. There are also smiling staff members always on hand. We hope that you enjoy a bit of luxury not available in the city, here in a relaxing atmosphere. That is our wish.
