SDGs
– Our Hospitality –
-
We support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a world-wide initiative. We are also committed to universal design for the comfort and convenience of all guests, as well as to eco-sustainability activities to preserve the rich natural environment.
In addition to promoting eco-friendly initiatives to contribute to the SDGs, we also work to achieve 4 of the 17 SDGs that are particularly relevant to Tateshina Shinyu Onsen.

Eco-sustainability activities
We work to achieve eco-friendliness and sustainability in order to make the best use of our limited resources.
Water conservation campaign
To conserve water, we make use of spring water from snow melting on the foothills of Mt. Yastugatake. Based on the guidance of the public health center, we disinfect the water with chlorine at a residual chlorine concentration of 0.2 PPM.
Energy conservation campaign
- Circulation and filtration system
To conserve energy in operating the baths, we have installed a circulation and filtration system.- LED lighting
We make use of LED lighting in the hotel to reduce energy consumption.Paper conservation campaign
We try to cut down on the amount of paper used, and promote the efficient use of toilet paper and the use of recycled paper in the company.
Plastic conservation campaign
We are gradually moving toward eliminating all use of plastic, such as no longer providing plastic straws, in order to reduce disposable plastics that lead to environmental pollution.
Eco-cleaning
In consideration of the environment, we perform eco-cleaning for guests staying multiple nights. By not making the beds (changing the sheets) or using vacuum cleaners, we can reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 0.9 tons per year. We ask for your cooperation in conserving the environment. If you wish to have your room cleaned as usual, please let us know when checking in.
